He found Death Note at time looking the sky and seeing a book arrive from sky. Light is Yagami's son, Head Police in Tokyo, Japan. He is a handsome and popular student, many girls like him.

After him found Death Note, he decides to create a kind of Utopia by killing off all the criminals in the world. In some scanlations he is called "Light" instead of Raito. After Raito starts killing off criminals he is given the name "Kira" by his fans, a name they derived from the word "Killer".
